This degree program prepares you to move directly into the human service field to assist people with social, behavioral or mental health problems.
The program is designed for those who wish to work in the human services field directly after completing their degree, including those who may already possess a college degree in a different field of study.
The college also offers a Human Service A.S. program for those who may wish to transfer on to a four-year college or university program to continue their education.
The Human Services program has an excellent reputation throughout the Capital Region and beyond. Many current human service workers in the area are graduates of this program.
Field Experience/Internships
This program provides two semesters of internships in the field in settings such as: mental health clinics, social services agencies, facilities for older adults, child care institutions and public schools.
Internships are a critical part of the learning experience and the program offers opportunities as varied as the goals of our students. Internships include working with a variety of populations, such as children, adolescents, LGBTQ, homeless, older adults, developmentally disabled and refugees.
90% of our graduates become employed by their assigned agencies.
